FTP, which is an acronym for File Transfer Protocol, is the most popular method for uploading files to a hosting account. Using an FTP client program that’s installed on your desktop computer or laptop, you can make a connection to your hosting server and copy all the web files that you need with a couple of clicks. You can do this via a simple-to-work-with graphical interface and it is as simple as dragging & dropping the abovementioned files. The advantage of using FTP is the fact that you are able to set up several FTP accounts, each with a different level of access to your online storage space, so if you wish to give somebody access, for example – a web designer, they’ll be able to access only one particular directory and will not be able to access the remaining web content or any other information, such as private details. Three prerequisites are mandatory to be able to make an FTP connection – a hostname, which is usually an IP address or a domain, a username and a password.

FTP Accounts in Web Hosting

You’ll be able to create as many FTP accounts as you wish with any of the web hosting plans that we are offering, since we have decided not to limit this service. Thus, you can manage numerous sites at once or grant other people access to different folders. Once a given task has been completed and you would not like that person to be able to access your web files anymore, you can modify the password for the specific FTP account or you can just remove that account with a few clicks of the mouse and quit worrying about someone connecting to it once more. The Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with all hosting accounts, will permit you to view the complete list of the active FTP accounts displayed alphabetically. It takes only one click of the mouse to administer different options for any of them – to change the password or the access path, to download an auto-configuration file, etc.

FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers

When you host your websites under a semi-dedicated server account, you will be able to create a separate FTP account for each one of them, since we haven’t put a restriction on this feature with any of our semi-dedicated plans. You can accomplish this via the FTP section of our simple-to-navigate Hepsia Control Panel where you can also see the full list of all the accounts that you’ve set up, together with the folder that each one can access. If necessary, you will be able to modify the password for a certain FTP account or to update its access path with a few clicks of the mouse. You can also delete an account effortlessly in case you do not need it anymore – for example, if you’ve hired a designer who is finished with the website and you don’t want them to connect to your files anymore. For the sake of convenience, we’ve prepared different instructional videos, which will help you administer your FTP accounts with ease in case you’ve never used a website hosting plan before.
